Love First Africa was started to help families connect with orphan and widow care ministries in Africa by partnering with local organizations dedicated to caring for vulnerable groups. We believe the first step in any journey requires a will to act, and through action we can demonstrate our love by making a difference in the lives of women and children in Africa who face significant risk.

Our Story

It’s amazing what can happen by simply saying “yes.” When we agreed to host three pastors from East Africa in our home while they attended a global conference on orphan care, we had no idea that our family would soon become part of a global movement. Once we saw what these men were able to accomplish in the lives of hundreds of women and children in need, we knew we needed to act. But how? Providing laptops, software and supplies was the easy part…the bigger challenge lay ahead: help them expand their work by equipping local teams to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of those they seek to serve. Love First Africa is the beginning of that mission.
