Calvary Transformation Ministries, Burundi
Enock Aldrich Hatungimana
In a story true of too many children in war-torn parts of Africa, I was forced to become a soldier at age 13. I was eventually able to return home to raise my four brothers and two sisters, following my mother’s death. I worked a number of jobs in order to advance my education, attending bible college and eventually becoming a pastor, a deacon and now an international coordinator for orphan care and ministries for the vulnerable. My organization is part of a movement called Burundi Without Orphans (BWO), dedicated to raising orphans and caring for widows within families. I live in Burundi with my wife, son, daughter and two foster children (a boy and girl).
Our MIssion
Mobilize our entire community to build a Burundi without Orphans. We seek to place orphans and other vulnerable children in families to allow them to grow and flourish. Since 2014 we have:
Distributed school materials to 170 orphans in the provinces of Cibitoke, Bujumbura, Muyinga and Ngozi.
Provided food to 43 vulnerable households in Muyinga province and families displaced from Kirundo to Muyinga due to famine.
Constructed 99 homes for vulnerable families in Muyinga province.
Obtained medical treatment in the United States for a severely burned 6-year-old girl who was given treatment by Shriners Hospital for Children from July to December, 2017.

Gilbert Kabango
The World Center for COMPASSION is a Christian National Congolese Rights Organization created in 2016 by a team of experts and advocates for orphan care in the DRC. My wife and our six children live near Lake Kivu and serve many villages located in remote areas in the Eastern DRC.
Our MIssion
WCC works with a network of churches and care organizations in Eastern DRC.
We serve orphaned and vulnerable children through services aimed at restoring dignity and promoting social integration (education, protection, health and spiritual guidance).
We work directly with local communities, encouraging them to place orphaned children in local foster and permanent homes.
